Misty River Skim

$185.00

Part of my recent “In the Fog” series.  One of my favorite places on earth is the Heritage Trail along the Potomac River and Goose Creek, and this is at the confluence.  The scene was empty, just a wall of fog across the horizon.  But then a great blue heron took flight from somewhere to my left, gradually appearing in the scene, wings not quite dipping into the water’s surface.

When they fly like that herons sometimes appear to be moving in slow motion.  And especially on this morning, languidly crossing my view with nothing but its shadow for reference.  The epitome of peaceful flight.

The white border you see is for presentation purposes only, so the image will stand out on the web site and give you an idea of what it might look like with a white mat.  You of course are free to display the image in your favorite style to match your home’s décor.
